Work, Market and Gender: Chiapanecan women corn toast producers
Abstract
The book describes the commitment to the development of a research project, the authors in their concern to analyze the conditions of poverty and precariousness in which some families of Chiapas find themselves, identify the intervention strategies of women within the homes and their roles in domestic and care work, as well as their relationship with the ecosystem and particularly with corn.
This is how the researchers converge to study the women toasters, where they consolidate an interesting work using the different disciplinary approaches that each one possesses, this to enrich the project and show in a profound way the living conditions of the women toast producers . To do this, they use quantitative and qualitative research methods that allow them to collect information on their population of interest.
